Has anyone used Expressionengine?

I've been looking around at all the CMS and blog solutions out there and came across Expressionengine once again. Has anyone used it?

Based on the videos, it looks nice.

Never come across any references to it.

Re: Has anyone used Expressionengine?

A couple of the design/webdesign podcasts I listen to have suggested it. I personally don't have much experience with it besides watching a few of the videos, but I have heard good things about it. If I were to start using a CMS, that would be one I would look into more.

Re: Has anyone used Expressionengine?

It gets a lot of good press and reviews. I personally like it and have wanted to try it. I haven't tried it b/c I have not had a need for it for a project since finding cmsmadesimple.org (yes, I am a fanboy LOL). The only turn off for me is that the usual cast of features I need and the ability to use it for a commercial project requires a paid license.

So in the ...er ... habit of a former boss..

So what your telling me is... I should look into this for the CMS Thread?

A CMS from M$ is a scary thought... but as it clearly as a tie in to the Expression series... which are not bad compared to other M$ products... guess they should get the benefit of the doubt.

It is not a M$ product - you made me look at their site again and I don't see any reference to M$.

Re: Has anyone used Expressionengine?

Hmm, M$ has such a new product line with Expression Web Designer, Expression Graphic, Expression something else for programmers... sounded like just another Expression product from the line.

Ohhhh they are gonna get sued! When you consider how many products had to change their name, I know two Germans one useing the term "Explorer" that got letters from M$ Lawyers threatening to sue them because M$ claimed the word "Explorer" as a trademark or something...

I cannot imagine they will let someone use "Expression."

Add it to my list of things I want to check out... behind old stuff and Silverlight... if anyone does play with it let me know if it is worth adding to the CMS thread.

yeah, next they will be suing Joomla because Joomla calls the 'home page' the "frontpage" when publishing content.
