One question that comes up scattered on the boards is delivering the goods. often it is in programming as people think about logins etc. But it is a question that comes up allot. "I sell a digital something so how do I best deliver after purchase?" So I have decided to make this thread for those with ideas to post them here in one place so we can cut back on those types of questions. Possibilities are of course FTP, email, snail mail... what have you used? |

I am taking an SSRS class. It is Friday and the class starts Monday and I live in Alaska... that means I will not have the class supplies in time... no way... So the online school sent me a PDF of the book being used. To do so they used YouSendIt and it worked fine. I got the email saying it is there and available for 7 days. Clicked the link and downloaded it. Walla! This is not meant as spam so I will not sell you on them, never heard of them before today... but for this one download it worked well and clearly the school likes them. So swing by and see if it meets your needs for business or personal like sending family videos to people. But seemed like a good tool for some people top deliver the goods... |

Ideally, I would like to send a nice package to each client with a CD-Rom backup of all the site documents (PSD, Images, HTML, CSS), a database backup if it is a CMS site, and reference material containing accounts and training documents. Being that I don't have the extra time, I usually forward account information and training documents and retain backups of the documents with me. I make everything available if a client wants to have it. ---------------------------------------- "The art of life lies in a constant readjustment to our surroundings." -Okakura Kakuzo Save the developers<!> Maine Webworks |
