Need to fix my Container DIV

I am trying (really) to wrap my head around SMARTY tags to modify my new Web site using CS-CART. I posted questions on their forum but no one answered so I am hoping for some help here.

I am using my own local server (QNAP NAS) - don't have the guts to put it up live yet. I would love to attach the style sheet here so someone can look it over but I see no mechanism to upload attachments. Am I missing something?

Basically, when I modified the default basic template that came with CS-CART from 100% to 1000px it breaks the Container DIV, so now my Left and Right columns extend past the bottom of the Container DIV. I tried using clear:both but it did not fix the layout problem.

Should I/Can I copy/paste my CSS here (about 1800 lines)?

Re: Need to fix my Container DIV

It's hard to say what you've actually change which is why you should at least put your work up on a live site but in a folder that is safe from the publics eyes yet be able to provide a link for us so we can best troubleshoot your problem.

When changing one thing from percentages to fix, you need to be careful and double check any and all other div's that uses percentages. From what you've explained, it looks like you've changed a div that is inside another div. Just because you see 100% does not mean it's the overall width of your layout.

There are other possibilities but that's a start. Just check to make sure that what you are changing is the overall layout container for your site. If it still breaks, then check the inner div's width settings. They need to add up to not exceed the overall width you specified.
