Times are tuf. The competition is fierce in web design! For instance, in Google addwords, and advertising for Daycare, for a choice key word to place you on the first page, you have to bid $1.25 a click. For Web Design - over $8.00 a click - that's crazy talk! Nedless to say, I think I'm like on the ninetenth page. I can't even find my add. Parents loosing jobs, therfore kids leaving, tenants can't pay rent, therefore moving out and looking for cheaper. I just had to send off some emails looking for new representation (for modeling). I thought I hung-up that hat a long time ago. But, now we find ourselves running low on cash. So off to more work (if you can call it that) I go. ---------------------------------------- Eric :~) Knowledge is Power |

Posts on "the person named Craig who has a list" ( ) tend to give low-ball figures for everything. A lot of the people who post looking for web work don't seem to understand what goes into web design, or are only looking for the lowest bidder.$12 an hour isn't terrible... if you are single or a student, or perhaps looking for your first web design job. If you have a family to support, or live in an area where housing is expensive, it's another matter though. That particular post sure seems to be asking for a lot of skills that a student probably wouldn't have. ---------------------------------------- Benjamin Falk | student : designer : developer Twitter: falkencreative |

I can understand where you are coming from Themla. They want a kid to develop a professional dating website with all the bells and whistles. Professionals don't work for $12 an hour. But then again Ben is right, people on Craigslist or looking for the low of the low. I call it a lesson learned. When they invest $500 into the site and it sucks, they will get the message. |

I've seen a lot worse on sites where you bid on the project. To Zeekianaie, over in Zimbabwe, $2 dollars an HR would make him a rich man. Can't compete with that! ---------------------------------------- Eric :~) Knowledge is Power |
