how do i make .swf files???
sorry if this is a stupid question...but i'm really a beginner and don't know much. well i saw this thing ( http://members.cox.net/impunity/endofworld.swf )
and i thought it was really cool and i wanted to do something similar (maybe with another theme...lol) well i don't even know what exactly swf files are. only that it's a flash thing or whatever you call it...
i was wondering how you make .swf files...i mean with wich program and how and everything.confused

SWF is a file produce by Macromedia Flash. The Flash software is the only way to make .swf files. The .swf files are created when you publish the movie you create in Flash.

uh...sorry...this is too difficult for me to understand...
can i download the software to make .swf files somewhere?
The .swf files are created when you publish the movie you create in Flash.

what does that mean?

Hi NiNY,

Welcome to the board.

You can download a trail version of the FLASH program from macromedia.com. Using this program you create animations that will play on your web page. When you save these animations, they are saved as .SWF files.

FLASH can be a steep learning curve, depending on what you want it to do. Just reading the tutorials that come with the 30 day trial version should get you on the right path, and I know some people on this list are pretty FLASH savvy.

HI,

You can make Flash movies with several programs, not just Macromedia's Flash.

Adobe has a product called 'Adobe LiveMotion' and there are other specialized Flash movie creation software like 'Swift 3d' that makes 3d Flash HomePage

And then there is Swish, this makes intro's, easy animated text among other things. Swish

And there are others out there, typically speciallized software that makes doing certain things in Flash easier than it would be in Macromedia's Flash.

Well I saw the complete waste of time thread that was posted and leads me to this question why would anyone want to create flash simular to that. For the most part flash is widely avoided as far as viewing unless it is good. Personally I do not feel that people want to view flash political movies. To me it seems like an attempt to put more spam up on the board and am referring to what Stef had to remove.

Personally I do not feel that people want to view flash political movies.


Not sure about that myself you know, if I find a nice movie that fits in with my personal politics (a topic I agree has no place on this board) I often send the link to my friends who share my views, specially if it's funny or makes a new point about something.

Though on the whole I tend to prefer movies that are motivational and uplifting, or just cute!

When I find one of those I always pass it round.

Whether this kind of casual use justifies the time and effort of making them is another subject!smile
