There have been a few times I've received private messages from people asking for help - questions on design, coding, etc. I'd be willing to bet others have too. No one likes to appear foolish because they don't know something that may seem obvious to everyone else. But guess what? It isn't obvious to everyone else. I guarantee that you aren't the only one who doesn't know whatever it is you're asking. There is no shame in not knowing something and there is no such thing as a dumb question. But it is a shame to deny yourself the knowledge by being too afraid to ask, and to deny others the knowledge by sharing the answers where everyone can see them. By posting your questions in the forum you receive feedback and suggestions from many different people. I am more than willing to help people to the best of my ability, but I don't know everything by any stretch of the imagination. Not even close! I may suggest a way of doing something that works, but someone else may know a better way. So not only have you learned something but so have I. So has anyone else who reads the thread. No one joined here figuring they were an expert and to share their knowledge. They came seeking help, to ask a question, to find out something they didn't know. They got the answers through the forum, and in the process of asking and learning, they discovered they could help others by sharing what they know through open discussion. What makes this forum so great is we have so many different people with such a wide range of experience willing to share their knowledge and experience - and their lack thereof. Please people, this is a help forum, lets help each other learn! ---------------------------------------- Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by billyboy at Mar 16, 2006 1:20:52 AM] |

ditto. same with im's. I'm happy to help, but feel strongly that killersite's forum business should stay in the forums to encourage the growth of this great resource. ---------------------------------------- "The art of life lies in a constant readjustment to our surroundings." -Okakura Kakuzo Save the developers<!> Maine Webworks |
