WHAT ARE SEO SERVICES?

The term SEO is short for:

search engine optimization.

SEO is the process of optimizing your website's code and content so that it is more attractive to search engines.

There are many SEO firms out there that provide this service where they (in a nutshell) go through your website's code and clean it up so as to make it easier for the search engines to process your site. The theory is that if you can make the website's code more accessible to the search engines, your ranking in the search engines will improve.

... This is false.

In fact code modifications can only (at best) moderately help you to change the categories in which your site appears. Code tweaking, has little impact on how well your site will do in the search engine rankings.

Content changes are more important.

If you really want to start building a better position in the search engines, you need to look at many other things beyond the code behind your web pages.

... One thing that comes to mind, is the actual content - the text.

A good search engine marketing specialist will look at your content and how it is structured way before they would even consider code.
